Can-Eng Furnaces has supplied a 130 Ton Car Bottom Furnace for customer Edmonton Exchanger, located in Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
The unit is designed for Stress Relieving and Reheating at temperatures up to 2000°F, to be operated as a single 55’ chamber or two (2) independent heating chambers (24’ and 31’ ) separated by an inner door.
This gives Edmonton Exchanger the flexibility to utilize a smaller heated chamber as dictated by customer requirements. The dual door, and two car assembly posed a number of engineering challenges that typical single car arrangements do not face.
Edmonton Exchanger is a manufacturer of heavy walled steel cylinder and dished head assembly units. With one of North America’s largest plate inventories, Edmonton Exchanger can form and heat treat plate structures up to 11” thick. This is the second order Edmonton Exchanger placed with CAN-ENG, the original plate heating furnace dating back to 1981.
